A new police drama about an ambitious young detective who's relocated from London to Newcastle. Keen to make a good impression, Det Sgt Nicky Cole goes in pursuit of the only remaining witness who can appear at the trial of a major extortionist.

2. Episode 2

Nicky Cole tries to trap a brothel owner, and investigates after a straightforward break-in at a student flat ends with a knife attack. When he questions a local prostitute, he finds that things in one area of Newcastle are not what they seem.

3. Episode 3

A shopkeeper's efforts to punish a young shoplifter backfire, and a father's personal protest over access rights to his children causes traffic chaos.

4. Episode 4

After a drunken night out, Astel discovers he's hit something - or someone - with his car. Nicky, meanwhile, gets some unexpected attention from Claire.

5. Episode 5

Nicky, under investigation for corruption, discovers that the person who reported him is the only one who can help clear his name. Convinced Carter wants him out, Nicky refuses to go without a fight.

6. Episode 6

Nicky and the team go undercover in a local nightclub to catch a serial date rapist.

Overview

Armed with a self-effacing manner and a lively sense of humour, Nicky quickly discovers that being a good cop doesn't always win you friends. Stuck away from the land of the living as a night detective, he learns that new friends are in short supply”the other detectives look upon him with suspicion and his boss DI Carter doesn't do much to make his new recruit welcome. Although his methods can, at times, be unorthodox, Nicky always tries to do the right thing, even if it does make him unpopular with his new colleagues.
