2. Guests from the beyond

Everyone in Wilkowyje learns Lucy decided to move permanently. The mayor and his wife plot to change her mind.

Lucy wants to take up teaching in a local school. Headmaster's enthusiasm about an actual American working for her clashes with mayor's strict opposition.

4. Sobering up

Lucy sees many problems in the village, all of which come from alcohol. She focuses on the illegally brewed kind first.

5. County news

A flu epidemic breaks out in Wilkowyje. Witebski, the Polish teacher, comes up with the idea of starting a local newspaper.

6. County's matter

Mayor fills the second edition of the newspaper with anticlerical propaganda. Lucy unwittingly starts a dog shelter.

7. Double agent

Lucy's shelter fills up. Kusy gets Witebski to issue a fake segment about the European Union household dog subsidies.

8. Scapegoats

Mayor spreads a rumor that Lucy wants to breed goats. Hadziukowa wishes to join the business.

9. Rehab and contraceptives

Lucy asks doctor Wezół to do a lecture on contraceptives. Kusy continues the struggle to stay sober.

10. Kidnapping

Lucy is kidnapped. Kusy gets the priest and mayor to act. Kidnappers' wives take matters into their own hands.

11. Common enemy

A supernatural event worries the village. Lucy finds a solution, but it requires the priest and mayor's cooperation.

12. County honour

A European Union delegation visits Wilkowyje. Due to certain circumstances, the priest will replace the mayor.

13. The big election

The mayor is sure he will win the oncoming election, when he finds out Lucy is a candidate as well. He sends a spy to join her committee.

Overview

Ranczo ["Ranch"] is a Polish television comedy series, directed by Wojciech Adamczyk, that has aired since March 2006 on TVP1. It follows the story of Lucy Wilska, a Polish-American who has inherited her grandmother's country home in the fictional small town of Wilkowyje. She arrives in Wilkowyje intent on selling the cottage but, after seeing the charm of the village, decides to stay.
