For 21 years, Kahoko has lived a sheltered life. But her world is turned upside down when she’s criticized by an outspoken art student at her college.

2. Episode 2

Kahoko learns more about her dad and uncles’ workplaces. Later, she discovers that Ito plans to compete in a cello contest despite her injured wrist.

3. Episode 3

Kahoko notices she’s falling in love with Hajime. Unable to tell her mom how she feels, she opens up to her dad, who promises to keep her secret.

4. Episode 4

Masataka finds himself caught in the crossfire of Kahoko and Izumi's fight. Kahoko must learn to deal with rejection for the very first time.

5. Episode 5

After an angry Masataka leaves home, Izumi prohibits Kahoko from contacting him. Tensions between Ito and her parents reach a breaking point.

6. Episode 6

Kahoko agrees to date Hajime under two conditions, but he has trouble meeting them. Masataka tries persuading a stubborn Izumi to come home.

7. Episode 7

Kahoko learns of her grandmother's secret. Hajime and Kahoko can't see eye to eye regarding Ito's birthday party, leading to their first-ever fight.

8. Episode 8

While Kahoko attends a matchmaking party, Ito attempts to seduce Hajime. A family meeting is called to discuss Kahoko’s grandmother's well-being.

9. Episode 9

Izumi’s stern opposition leaves Kahoko in a state of shock. When Kahoko’s grandmother is hospitalized, the family begins to fall apart at the seams.

10. Episode 10

Kahoko’s grandfather causes a family panic when he suddenly goes missing. In response to Kahoko’s request, Izumi asks Hajime a difficult question.

Overview

College student Kahoko is the quintessential overprotected child born out of today's Japanese society. Shielded by her parents, Kahoko grew up completely pampered and became somewhat of a miraculously naive "test tube human." She is 21 years old and about to start working for a company, but she has never slept away from home, had a part time job, chosen her own clothes, or even ridden a train alone. Kahoko has had her picture taken, but she has never taken a picture herself. Now, Kahoko is about to step out of her germ-free isolation pod and into the germ-infested world. It won't be long until she realizes, "I'm different from everybody else!" She has been her mother's best friend all her life and her father can't live without her. As they become emotionally unstable from the changes that Kahoko goes through, their family begins to fall apart. That's when Kahoko herself and the people around her begin to see the strength that hides deep within.
